How Distribution of your bands OR Labels release works through NHR Records:
In a regular record deal or distribution deal bands only make around $1-$2 per CD, if they even
ever get paid by their label. When selling through NHR Records, bands make $6-$12 per CD and
get paid monthly.
Most companies offering this same thing usually ask for a submission fee we do not, this is
completely free. We handle all shipping, fulfillment and packaging costs.
How it works:
1. You send us an email with information regarding your release. This information should include:
- Band Name
- Release Title
- Description of your release
- We will add, MP3 sample and album cover scan
- Price at which you would like to sell your CD
- Band website URL
- Your PayPal email account (so we can send you payments)
2. You mail us 5 CDs (NO DIY CDR's PLEASE) to the NHR Records bunker (Mailing address located
below). When those 5 CDs sell out you simply send us 5 more CDs. We will notify you once your
stock is getting low.
3. We upload/scan your albums cover art for display in our SHOP. We add the information you
provided in point #1 (sound clip, link back to your website, and the short description of your
release)
4. We add your bands URL to our Distributed Bands section of our links page.
5. You set a price for your CD. We recommend a maximum price of $10 (because that's the
price most big labels debut CDs) but you can set whatever price you wish ($4 minimum). You
get 100% of the selling price less a $4 processing charge for every sale (all prices $US). So you'll
be making clean profit after you've sold just five CDs at $10 each. You can do that easily, Right?
6. We promote, market and sell your CD at the NHR Records website, NHR Records My Space
page, newsletters, forum updates etc...
7. People buy your CDs
8. NHR Records handles all transactions, fulfills all orders within 24 hours, and notifies you via email
once every transaction is complete and tells you who bought it.
9. NHR Records sends payment to your via PayPal once per month or bi-weekly, it is totally up to
you.
This is totally non-exclusive. We don't own the rights to you or your CD, and we don't want to.
We're just sales and distribution. You're the boss!
As mentioned above unlike other companies, this is totally free no one time start up fees you
can cancel anytime. We'll never get in the way of your music. All we ask is that you link us back
on your websites or my space sites and let everyone know where to get your great CD!!
